why neocities

so i created this site because i saw that neocities community is still alive and well and are big advocates for older web aesthetics. it really inspired me to see so many cool sites and to know that there was an active community behind it. my site may not be designed majorly in older web aesthetics, but that's just down to my personal style. i really love what everyone is doing and look forward to getting involved with the community!

i actually have been web designing since i was about 11. back then it was on piczo (rip) but then i gradually moved to freewebs, then to a subdomain, and then to my own domains. i used to be really into blogging and reading or commenting on my online friends' blogs.

when i was about 15, i was approved for my very first fanlisting (pokemon the first movie). for a good number of years i was thoroughly involved in the fanlisting community, creating and joining fanlistings for everything. i had a lot of fun coming up with designs and being active in such a fun little niche community. sadly, fanlistings are on a gradual decline (i no longer own any) which is a shame given the amount of passion and effort people had for them. with this in mind you can imagine my delight to find neocities, full of shrines and old school content, still active.
